Not To Be Missed

Dwip: The train isn't having any of that.

Whir: Why are you on a train?

Dwip: It's more like there's a train track outside work. 2, actually. So it's like, every time you go to or leave work, roll 1d6 and consult the Train Encounter Chart. On a 1-2, there's a train.

Ah, gaming humor. The three of us laugh.

Maybe You're Better Off This Way

Well, two full weekends in, I'm feeling much better about things.

The band as a whole is pretty laid back. I don't have a lot in common with anyone, but I still get along with them pretty well. I can't say that for some of the bands I've played with. Plus their fans are 3x better than the ones I'm used to. Nicer people and totally outgoing. Which is nice, because I'm not. Nice _or_ outgoing.

I cleaned up a lot faster than I thought I was going to too. I'm at least on the level I was at in Vader's already. That plus my glorious all-tube sound break-through (yes, I started it all myself, the 70s never really happened).

I'm looking forward to the next seven months.

Also looking forward to GenCon, even though I keep forgetting to get a pass.

And still really tempted to quit my job. I am not going to get a lot of cycling done this summer if I don't, and that's one thing that I really wanted to do this year. Money, or the physique of Adonis? Oh, the decisions.

Okane wa daisuki.

Twice As Hard

People have been wondering about an update, but I don't really have much to talk about.

I said I'd talk about the band, but I don't want to. I didn't even come close to living up to my end of the deal. We'll leave it at that.

I did finally get my new laptop though. HP DV4308WM. It's a pretty nice piece. The only thing it doesn't have that I would've liked is a dedicated video chip. The only thing it has that I would rather it didn't is the gloss screen coating. Otherwise, it's right at perfect. I paid too much, but that's the breaks when your credit score is lower than your IQ.

I'm fairly close to just quitting my part-time job. I have absolutely no desire to be there or deal with the people there. I know it's a bad idea to quit, I could use the extra cash, and the discount is really nice, but it's getting to the point where I can't even justify to myself why I should get out of bed for the $20 I make in a day there. Especially when I spend $10 of it by being there.

Well, I will say one thing about this weekend -- My old Gibson Q80 through a Bassman 100 and Fender 2x15 cabinet sure does sound a whole lot of awesome.
